How It Got Started

It begins with me. From a young age I have battled with my mind. Some battles I have won but it is a never-ending war that wages on and on.
Every day is another battle.
The difference I find in myself today from years ago is that now when I wake I am not scared of another battle to come, I am ready to take on whatever life wants to throw at me because of how strong I have become.
Each day I am prepared to fight because I finally feel my own value.
My journey began because I needed to be healed and I knew that only I had the power to do so.
On my journey Second Life played a big part in it.
I have been a resident of Second Life for about twelve years. It is a world I cannot leave behind. Second Life is an incredibly unique place where the resources for creativity are in abundance. The opportunity to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds means I can gain an incredible perspective. I have cultured my own skills and gained valuable friendships with people I would not have met in any other walk of life.
Walking through people’s creative works is like sneaking a peek inside their mind, it is an absolute privilege to be able to get that kind of insight. Creativity has played a key part in my recovery; I found a way to channel negativity by turning it into something beautiful.
Because of my love for Second Life when I was looking for a place to start my own mental health initiative it seemed only natural that it began in there.
